SchemaSeed Guides

Fake data from a CSV header

You do not need a full CREATE TABLE statement to start. A header row is enough when the column names say what the values are.

id, email, full_name, city, created_at

SchemaSeed builds a table from those names and fills each column. email becomes an email address, city becomes a city, and created_at becomes a timestamp. You can change any column’s generator before you export.

Use the New button in the app to type the header, preview the table, and optionally save that sample in this browser. The same rows can leave as CSV again, or as JSON, or as SQL inserts once you pick a database.
